Champignons, bact\u00e9ries, virus, oomyc\u00e8tes, les bioagresseurs qui s&rsquo;attaquent aux cultures sont nombreux, souvent invisibles \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u0153il nu, et parfois d\u00e9vastateurs lorsqu&rsquo;ils ne sont d\u00e9tect\u00e9s que trop tard. Face \u00e0 cette r\u00e9alit\u00e9, les agriculteurs disposent aujourd&rsquo;hui d&rsquo;outils de diagnostic performants, mais qui montrent leurs limites dans des situations de plus en plus complexes. Ces techniques permettent de d\u00e9tecter la pr\u00e9sence d&rsquo;un organisme pathog\u00e8ne dans un \u00e9chantillon v\u00e9g\u00e9tal en amplifiant une s\u00e9quence d&rsquo;ADN sp\u00e9cifique \u00e0 cet organisme. R\u00e9sultat : une sensibilit\u00e9 remarquable, capable de d\u00e9tecter des quantit\u00e9s infimes de mat\u00e9riel g\u00e9n\u00e9tique pathog\u00e8ne, et une sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9e moteur de recherche tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cis : on lui soumet une requ\u00eate : \u00ab\u00a0est-ce que ce champignon est pr\u00e9sent dans cet \u00e9chantillon ?\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0 et elle r\u00e9pond oui ou non avec une grande fiabilit\u00e9. Ces m\u00e9thodes sont aujourd&rsquo;hui le standard des laboratoires d&rsquo;analyse et des organismes de surveillance sanitaire des cultures.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leur limite est inh\u00e9rente \u00e0 leur fonctionnement : pour chercher un pathog\u00e8ne, il faut d\u00e9j\u00e0 savoir qu&rsquo;il existe et qu&rsquo;il est susceptible d&rsquo;\u00eatre pr\u00e9sent. Face \u00e0 un pathog\u00e8ne \u00e9mergent, une esp\u00e8ce rare ou une combinaison d&rsquo;agents pathog\u00e8nes inattendus, la PCR ne peut rien d\u00e9tecter si la bonne \u00ab\u00a0requ\u00eate\u00a0\u00bb n&rsquo;a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 formul\u00e9e au d\u00e9part. Par ailleurs, cette recherche est restreinte aux pathog\u00e8nes s\u00e9quenc\u00e9s, (pr\u00e9sents dans les bases de donn\u00e9es) et aux souches d\u00e9j\u00e0 connues.<\/span><\/p><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L&rsquo;imagerie a\u00e9rienne : surveiller les champs depuis le ciel<\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parall\u00e8lement, une autre r\u00e9volution s&rsquo;est op\u00e9r\u00e9e dans les pratiques agricoles : l&rsquo;essor de l&rsquo;imagerie par drone et par satellite. Ces technologies permettent de survoler des parcelles enti\u00e8res et de capter des informations spectrales invisibles \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u0153il nu, notamment dans les longueurs d&rsquo;onde de l&rsquo;infrarouge, particuli\u00e8rement r\u00e9v\u00e9latrices de l&rsquo;\u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 des v\u00e9g\u00e9taux.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concr\u00e8tement, une plante stress\u00e9e peut modifier sa fa\u00e7on de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir la lumi\u00e8re bien avant que des sympt\u00f4mes visibles n&rsquo;apparaissent. L&rsquo;imagerie multispectrale capte ces modifications pr\u00e9coces et permet de cartographier les zones d&rsquo;une parcelle \u00e0 probl\u00e8me. C&rsquo;est un outil puissant pour surveiller de grandes surfaces rapidement, prioriser les interventions et suivre l&rsquo;\u00e9volution d&rsquo;une culture tout au long de la saison.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mais cette approche se heurte \u00e0 une limite fondamentale : elle d\u00e9tecte un signal, pas une cause. Une anomalie spectrale peut r\u00e9sulter d&rsquo;un stress hydrique, d&rsquo;une carence en nutriments, d&rsquo;une attaque fongique ou d&rsquo;une infection bact\u00e9rienne. Autrement dit, l&rsquo;image pointe un probl\u00e8me mais sans dire lequel.
